In Belgium, the Smet-Tobback Act opened up security to other sectors, and thus created new markets.
After a career in aerospace, Yves Bastin, saw an opportunity here, and created a small security company: FACT Security. His aim: to supply a high-level security service intended for private and public companies. Very quickly, big names called upon FACT Security’s services (Walibi and ICI-Paris XL… which are still our loyal clients!)
To guarantee quality recruitment, by having official security officer training authorised by law, Yves Bastin created FACT Training. Since then, FACT Training has developed what it offers, with training models around first-aid, fire, conflict management, management and well-being at work.
To respond to all additional requests coming from clients, Yves Bastin founded FACT Services. This third company offers welcoming services (stewardesses) and logistics support.
FACT Group moved to Limal, into a large, spacious building, where all training could be given, and security guards trained in fitted out sports halls. Specially-organised containers were made available for firefighting training.
FACT Security became a full member of the Association Professionnelle des Entreprises de Gardiennage (APEG) (Professional Security Company Association)
FACT Security achieved its first ISO 9001 : 2000 certification.
FACT Security took part in developing APEG’s Secure Quality seal of approval, which it achieved.
Yves Bastin made his entry into APEG’s Executive Board.
Creation of the subsidiary in Luxembourg, FACT Security Luxembourg, which currently employs more than 150 people.
In 15 years, Yves Bastin has built up, from nothing, a group which currently has more than 800 staff, and achieves a turnover of more than €35 million. The group’s growth is self-financed, the profits being systematically reinvested into it.
FACT SECURITY is the first security company in Wallonia and the fourth Belgian security company, just behind the 3 big multinationals, SECURITAS, G4S and SERIS.
Amongst its many clients: public institutions, embassies, major companies, museums, amusement parks, conference centres, etc.
